A Joke Updated

Monday, May 18 2009

There’s a joke about Jordan (the topless model) which has been very popular for the last year or two - I think someone even used it on the Observer website after my column last week *shiver* - along the lines of, “This new Pope has a chequered life - I heard recently he’s been in Jordan.” I believe this week’s version is, “No wonder Peter Andre wants a divorce - even the Pope has been in Jordan.”

Perhaps a fresher version could be created, based on a line in an article about Prince Philip in the Daily Mail today: “The Duke of Edinburgh has made few public appearances since February, when he had to cancel a trip to Jordan amid reports he had pulled a muscle in his back.”

Well, of course he wouldn’t want to visit her under those circumstances…

Strangely familiar looking poker column in The Independent yesterday. More importantly I overslept today and was coming to terms with the day with coffee and WWE wrestling at 7am when I’m sure I heard you multitasking on a Dove advert tellling me to shave my pits to make them softer, which threw my day into even further confusion. Is this true? Is it science? Are you contractually obliged to shave yours? Are you claiming razors on expenses? I feel like I’ve lost my bearings in the world and don’t know where to turn.

I DO NOT DO THE VOICEOVER ON THE DOVE ADVERT. I DO NOT DO THE VOICEOVER ON THE MARKS & SPENCERS ADVERT. The only advert I’ve ever done is for PokerStars, and that’s as a sponsored player not a hired voiceover. Maybe will do adverts one day but so far is very much not policy, so whenever you think it’s me, it isn’t!
