Find John Regan

Wednesday, 25 November 2009

I posted this a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, this morning came some very bad news about John Regan, who has died. Perhaps I should now take down the post, but it feels wrong somehow to press “delete” today. Thanks to all those who responded to the Twitter appeal, it was an immediate surge of kindness and support and help towards the family of this person that none of you knew, and that response was a sign of all the goodness in the world. I know we all send all our sympathy and warmest condolences to his family.

A young man called John Regan, who lives near me in Primrose Hill, plays poker and is a friend of my good friend Tony “The Lizard” Bloom, has disappeared. He has been missing for six days. His family are desperately trying to find him and my heart goes out to them. He was last seen outside Bartok, a bar on Chalk Farm Road in Camden, around midnight last Wednesday. CCTV footage shows that he probably intended to walk home along the canal. He was wearing jeans and a navy jumper with a pink skull motif. If you are from that area, have been there recently, or have any reason to think you might be able to help, please read this news story, look at the photos below, and if you think you might have anything even slightly relevant or helpful to contribute, please call Camden Police on 0300 123 1212.

John’s an old workmate of mine and a thoroughly decent fella; really hope to get positive news soon. Good to see so many people willing to give their time to help find him.
