I Could Do With Dieting Myself

Thursday, 9 October 2008

I was sorry to read that Jose Luis Garza, who weighed 992 lb (just over 70 stone) has died in Mexico, after ambulancemen had to demolish his bedroom wall to take him to hospital. Obituaries of Senor Garza reveal that he was friends with Manuel Uribe, the world’s heaviest man (1235 lbs, or 88 stone), who lived an hour away in Monterrey.
I’m guessing they communicated mainly by phone.

They could have used email but I guess they would need one of these

Having become single again and running into someone I hadn’t seen in years at the airport whose first words were “You’ve put weight on” and then hearing the same words at the other end from the person who picked me up I decided to lose some weight from 15 stone to now under 14 (I’m 6’ 3”).

If only I’d had the determination to put on another 60 stone I may have made a new friend…..

My favourite reply to “You’ve put some weight on!” is “Yeah but at least I’ve still got my manners!!”

I’d like to think that they communicated by stamping on the floor and picking up the vibrations.  Can’t be spending too much money on phone bills, not with the growing pressure on the international cake markets.

I’ll have to remember that reply Dass! I will be needing it in a few months when I visit friends and family whom I haven’t seen for 6 years. It can go into my arsenal along with “my hair has alway been very fine like that”

In the words of Denis Leary, “That’s the first sign. When you’re calling the construction company before you call the hospital, STOP F**KING EATING!”
