…starts tonight!
8.30pm on BBC Two, and it will continue in that slot on Monday nights for the next 29 weeks. The series was all filmed and recorded before I went on maternity leave, so I shall now be eight months pregnant on television until March 2016. Marvellous.

after hearing potential bad news, spent best time watching 3 new Only Connect episodes (2 on I player). Felt as old as you did when nobody had heard of the great John Noakes (I’m 46). Thanks for being consistently wonderful and welcome back.

Victoria. I am so glad Only Connect is back. A great way to end a horrible working day!! My partner and I met each other watching your show in a pub years ago, when we got competitive at the bar over speedy answers. Glad we can be nostalgic all over again for another series. Thank you!

Skipping straight over the pregnancy fact (though congrats and how is everyone?).
I have been away from tthe blog for a few years, though never stopped watch OC, even through the wintery BBC 3 days of the past like 9 / 10 series?
My question is this, now that you have moved to a DRASTICALLY longer format with one win required from a potential two games to process yadda yadda:
A) how has it been working, you know a lot longer / more?
B) how has it impacted on things back stage, like your version of the QI Quiz Elves?
C) if you still have time to answer, do you think the longer format brings “more” out of people, are we seeing better quizzers as a result of more exposure?
I will leave you alone to enjoy, what i have recently experienced myself, “peace and quiet” of parenthood.

Kenneth: I don’t think the new structure makes much difference to the quizzing itself. It just means that our teams get a bit more value out of their trip to Cardiff, with two goes at the game, and we get more juicy TV quizzing out of their excellent brains. It’s definitely improved things, but more the fairness and entertainment value; the quizzing strength is, I would say, unaffected.

I would love to say we were speedy enough to be some sort of competition on the show but alas I think that could be overly optimistic. Especially as drinks had been consumed. Nevertheless it’s great to be watching it again. We will definitely have to have the OC theme tune incorporated into our wedding some how #OurTune could totally take off. Without intending to be completely bathetic, I think it’s safe to say OC will always have an honourable place in our household. I only expand on this because I didn’t think you would hear the story. Thanks again for the great show!!! *goes back to binge watching on iPlayer*

I’m not sure if I like Only Connect, it makes me feel thick. I can get that any time.
It’s not as odd seeing it on BBC2 as it is Family Guy, there are a lot of migrant TV shows these days.
Will you be seeing the new Bond film, VCM, or giving it a miss since you didn’t like the last one? I suppose everything has to come with a babysitter these days.

Love the TV show! Would love to know whether you have any interest in videogames-they often crop up in questions on the show and I remember you giving the answer of GLADOS from PORTAL as if everyone should know it! (Btw you always look lovely on TV-preggers or not!!)

My my Vicky tonight’s edition was damn hard. We didn’t get a single one right. Mind you it doesn’t help when a homophone only works if you have an English accent. It’s not the first time either. Also, last week saw a sequence regarding consecutive stations on the Northern Line! Now come on how are those of us in Scotland supposed to know that? I look forward in the next series to questions regarding the consecutive tracks on Billy Connolly’s first solo album, Albion Rovers goalkeepers and The Broons! You’re still gorgeous though.
