Victoria Coren Mitchell - Writer, Broadcaster & Poker Player

New book out now!

Tuesday, 1 September 2009

Finally, after twenty years of playing poker, two years of sweat and tears, 74 gallons of tea and at least six months of worrying, Victoria Coren’s poker memoir For Richer, For Poorer, A Love Affair With Poker is published on September 17th. For more information on that, have a look at the books page.

So there will be various press and radio stuff around that, and an appearance at the Woodstock literary festival on September 19th.

Meanwhile, the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) runs from September 3rd-20th on PokerStars. Victoria is will be playing at least 5 or 6 of these amazing tournaments (results so far: played 4, cashed 3) and certainly the main event on September 20th, trying to win a million dollars without leaving the house. If you ARE prepared to leave the house, satellites are now running on PokerStars for this year’s London EPT tournament in October. UK and Irish players can win packages for $1, for 10 FPPs or completely for free, alongside all the normal qualifying satellites.

Also, for anyone who missed Heresy, the counter-intuitive comedy debate show hosted by Victoria with some very smart and funny guests, it is currently being repeated at 11pm on Tuesday nights, Radio 4.
