Come What May

Tuesday, 1 May 2012

Victoria is still in Monte Carlo, where May 1st is a public holiday. But it won’t be a holiday for her, because at midday she’s going back for Day Two of the women’s side event at the EPT Grand Final (12 players left, blinds very big) at the same time as playing the EPT Champion Of Champions’ tournament - the one in which she came fourth last year for €10,000, but this year it’s a turbo. So, she’ll be running between two tournaments, both of which demand that the players get stuck in and don’t pass too many hands. It’s not ideal. Luckily they’re in the same room. And whatever happens, it’s been a great trip: Victoria won the Heads Up side event for €59,000 and is very happy to now have two EPT wins under her belt.
UPDATE: Victoria finished second in the women’s tournament (for more, see blog post titled “Whee…”; for result and cash, see tournament results on the “poker” page).

Later in the month, the poker will be online: on Saturday May 5th, Victoria will be the ‘bounty’ in a TalkSPORT tournament on PokerStars. The prizes are seats into another online tournament where you can win a package for UKIPT Dublin and it’s free to play - so look out for that on Stars, 8.30pm UK time. After that, VC will be playing plenty of events in the Spring Championship Of Online Poker which runs from May 6th - May 20th.
UPDATE: Victoria had a good result in the SCOOP too; see tournament results on the “poker” page.

On Thursday, May 31st, Victoria will be on the panel of Question Time on BBC One.
