Victoria’s publisher rang last week to make sure that her poker book would be ready for delivery at Christmas. It’s currently halfway through. After a year.
So, despite her obsession with advent, there will be no singing carols, wrapping presents, decorating trees, baking plum cakes or sledging down Kite Hill on a tea tray until she’s done some serious writing. She’s going to be writing hard. 8am til midnight. Every day. Without a break. In other words, a month from now, if you want to know what’s been happening in Bargain Hunt, Loose Women or Diagnosis Murder, Victoria’s your girl.
She will also be taking a short break to play the Grand Final of the Gala Casinos British Poker Tour in Bristol, early December.
Victoria heartily recommends either of the books which are currently on the books page as ideal Christmas presents, depending on whether you’re shopping for a lovely old aunt, or a lovely old aunt who likes porn.
And Only Connect will complete its run on BBC Four this month, Mondays at 8.30pm, with the final on December 22nd.
